Event Description
Facebook has more than 500 million active users — users that have visited the site in the last 30 days. Are you one of them?

Since its founding in 2004, Facebook has grown into the primary vehicle for social networking — interacting with others of common interest via the Internet.
Social networking is much like the networking humans have done throughout history. The primary difference is that it completely eliminates the constraints of geography — allowing us to interact in real time with people all over the world.
This workshop is designed to cover the very basics of getting started on Facebook. If you have been curious about how to get started, then we can get you up and running. If you already have an account, but don’t know what to do next, then this class will help. Learn:
- What Facebook is
- How to get started
- Basic privacy settings
- How to make connections
- Where to get more information
Our workshop will begin promptly at 10:30, so arrive a little early to do some old-school networking. Signup with with a friend and learn together.
Find us in the meeting room in the back of the Evanston Panera Bread. You are welcome to bring your laptop to work along with the instructor (not required). Feel free to purchase food or beverages from Panera and bring them into the workshop.
Instructor: Susan Bearman has spent years developing her web savvy and is an experienced presenter.
